Mirabelli Corporation is growing and we are excited to announce that we are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our US team in the Thunder Bay area.  This role will involve regular travel within 2 to 3 hours of Thunder Bay.  We offer a fair, inclusive work culture and a competitive weekly rate.  Come join us and enjoy working for a well-run company with a fair and diplomatic management team.   

 

Key Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, join wood and other building materials.
  • Perform some demolition works.
  • Install acoustical ceiling tiles.
  • Frame walls.
  • Hang various types of doors and frames.
  • Install interior windows and hardware.
  • Certifications for lifts and various tools of the trade.
  • Complete an accurate layout based on construction documents.
  • Install bathroom accessories, signage, etc.
  • Be able to do a level 5 Drywall finish.
  • Paint walls and other surfaces.
  • Install vinyl plank and VCT flooring.
  • Install ceramic tile.
  • Hang drywall, mud and tape.
  • Assemble finish carpentry (millwork).
  • Adhere to Health and Safety program.
  • Other duties as assigned by Site Supervisor.

 

Qualified candidates have the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • At least two years of experience as a carpenter or handyman.
  • Ability to read construction blueprints. 
  • Experience with both rough and finish carpentry.
  • Own tools and vehicle.
  • Drywall experience.
  • Commercial painting experience.
  • Experience with vinyl plank and VCT; ceramic tile is nice to have.
  • Steel toed boots and appropriate work gear.
  • Must have reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
