We are a real estate company managing a portfolio of commercial, light industrial, and a small number of residential properties across the Greater Toronto Area. We are seeking a Property Maintenance & Field Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep, inspections, and operational maintenance of our properties.

This is a hands-on role involving regular property visits and physical outdoor work throughout the year. The position is responsible for helping maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and overall property condition across multiple sites. It is well suited for someone who enjoys working in the field, takes pride in maintaining properties, and is proactive in identifying and addressing operational issues.

 

Key Responsibilities

Property Upkeep & Site Maintenance

  • Perform regular visits to properties to maintain overall cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.
  • Carry out hands-on property maintenance and upkeep tasks, including cleaning, debris removal, and general property care.
  • Assist with maintaining interior and exterior building areas to ensure properties remain presentable and well maintained.

Property Inspections & Monitoring

  • Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance issues, safety concerns, or operational deficiencies.
  • Monitor general site conditions including exterior areas, lighting, parking areas, walkways, and building access points.
  • Report issues identified during inspections and assist with addressing maintenance needs.

Facility & Operational Support

  • Assist with general maintenance and upkeep of company facilities and operational spaces.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as lighting replacements, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Support property management with operational tasks and site-related activities as needed.

Tenant Turnover & Property Preparation

  • Assist with preparation and cleaning of spaces during tenant move-outs and vacancies.
  • Help ensure units and common areas are ready for new tenants or property use.

Seasonal Property Maintenance

  • Assist with seasonal property maintenance activities including exterior cleaning and general property upkeep.
  • Support winter operations by assisting with snow clearing activities and maintaining safe access to building entrances and walkways.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of property visits and work performed.
  • Document and report property conditions, maintenance issues, and operational activities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 1–3 years of experience in property maintenance, facilities support, construction support, landscaping, or similar hands-on roles.
  • Comfortable performing physical outdoor work in all seasons.
  • Basic understanding of building maintenance and property operations.
  • Reliable and able to work independently in the field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify property issues.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between properties.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: Starting at $55,000, depending on experience.

  • Mileage reimbursement for travel between properties
  • Monthly phone allowance
  • Company vehicle available when required
